What I'm loving Wednesday...

Today, I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday! :)

I'm loving the fact that my hubs got approved for vacation time so we can go to Kentucky for over two weeks at Christmas!

I'm loving my friend, Lauren's new blog!

I'm loving this swimsuit top I scored at Target on clearance for $4.98.

I'm loving painting our monogram letters to hang on the wall.

I'm loving planning meals for the week on Mondays and having yummy dinners.

I'm loving the Chandler public library.

I'm loving Jeremy Camp's "The Worship Project" album we picked up at the concert last week!

I'm loving the scent of our spiced apple cider candle, even though it's 105 degrees today and doesn't feel like fall in the least bit. October is only 3 days away whether Phoenix likes it or not. (Oh how I miss Madison, Wisconsin and their oh so lovely farmers market on capitol square!)

And as always, I'm loving this man,

(No, that is not a fake backdrop! This was taken during our hike around Jenny Lake at Grand Teton National Park-June 2010!)

What are you loving this Wednesday?

5 crazies and a precious 4 month old princess

While I was in Kentucky, I got to visit with my favorite girls in Louisville (my lovely bridesmaids)!!

L to R: Me, Lindsey (Lins), Tara (TT), Sowmya (Sowms), and Lauren (LK-previously known as Sully)
Tara: "I can't kick my leg up!!! I have a skirt on!!" hahaha
I don't think they will be mad at me for posting this craziness...? ha ha! Just don't mind the dirty feet...we were outside taking photos of Lindsey's precious baby girl!
These girls are one of a kind. They were my rock(s) when I was so busy/stressed finishing grad school, student teaching, planning a wedding, and living 400 miles away from my then fiance, for a year. They are STILL there for me now that I live 1,800 miles away. They are the ones I immediately send a mass text to every time I have a prayer request. They know me. They GET me. It was so much fun just having dinner and chatting. I love them so much and can't wait until we can reunite again!!

Here is Lindsey's precious babe, Julia. She's the first of us to reproduce. Hopefully the rest of us aren't too far behind! Julia needs some playmates! ha ha

Don't those sweet cheeks and eyelet dress melt your heart!!?

That sweet beaded bracelet she's wearing is made of clay beads which has flowers from Lindsey's baby shower melted into them....how neat is that? Lins also has a big bead with her wedding flowers in it.

Julia and her mama

She said Julia loves to "fly" :)

Wardrobe change! lol :)

That blanket is from J's crib. Her nursery is that blue color. So relaxing...

I look like my mama in this one!

J was so sweet and good for her "photo shoot" even though it was hot and steamy outside. I can't wait to see how big she is when I see her at Christmas. She'll probably be mobile by then! Hope you enjoyed the pics. Any photogs feel free to leave comments! I'm still figuring out my 35mm 1.8 lens!

Weekend Recap

We had such a fun weekend! It started off by my Nay actually getting home before 6 o'clock! :) We headed to downtown Phoenix for the Diamondback vs. Dodgers game. It was a toasty 101 degrees that night but the dome was "partially closed" and I'm assuming they had the AC blowers on in the nosebleeds, because it was somewhat bearable.

Nate said this is a good pitcher for the Dodgers, so I got a pic.

Dbacks pitching

My honey bunch, sugar plum, pumpy-umpy-umpkin. Haha Click HERE to listen to the song I like to sing to my bear.

They had the "legends" (big heads) race. We thought Randy Johnson's mullet hair was hilarious!!

And Randy, mullet hair, won! ha!

Cleaning up the field and setting up for the Jeremy Camp concert.

Three Diamondback players shared their testimony after the game. Powerful.

Then Jeremy Camp came out and played THIS song on piano. LOVED it.

Singing "Give Me Jesus"

He also sang a new song on the new album (which they sold at cost $5 after the game- better believe we bought one), called Overcame. We both really love this song!

On Saturday, we had such a blast tubing down the Salt River!! It was a steamy 106 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We caked on the sunscreen and packed up lunch and water and headed out.

Nate took these pics on the drive out there....so much flat land and many cacti (is that right? ;)
But you can see the mountains of Flagstaff in the far distance.

Pretty drive...

This is where we entered the water. The water wasn't too bad! I kind of thought it would be cold from what some people on the bus were saying. We got used to it immediately and didn't have goosebumps the entire time, so it was good! Hey good lookin'!

I busted out the camera once we got a 'floatin. There were so many cacti along the river.

My dorky water shoes! haha! Hey, they came in handy walking on sharp, slippery rocks, getting in and out of the water.

Me and our third wheel tube...the cooler.

Nathan's dorky water shoes! lol!

Most parts of the river was a slow flow but some parts were more adventurous and we had to really hold on going through the "rapids." But nothing too dangerous!

This is the little area where we pulled over to have our lunch.

Trying to keep from roasting his neck. haha It worked!

People were jumping in the water from that hole in the rock. I caught someone just as they hit the water.

Just relaxin'!

Gorgeous view. We actually had tiny parts of shade (from the high rock cliffs) in the afternoon!

Again, I'm not sure why that was the last weekend for tubing. I mean, it's 107 degrees today. I guess the water gets cooler since the nighttime temps are lower now. Who knows? We will definitely do this again though. We have a few things to remember for next time, like bring an old sheet that covers the entire tube, because they are black and get really hot! And also bring an umbrella for some shade! :)

Hope y'all had a great weekend, too.

Happy Friday!

It's Friday afternoon and I'm just waiting around until my hub gets home. We are going to grab some Panda Express and head over to Chase Field to see the Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers. I'm super pumped that Jeremy Camp will be there and have a little concert afterwards! We have seen Jeremy Camp in concert before and it was amay-zing.

Later this weekend, or most likely on Monday (because I like to spend every second with my husband on the weekend :), I'll have pics to post from the game, concert, and...

Hopefully we'll get to see this waterfall when we go tubing down the Salt River tomorrow. Nathan's HR person told him about this during one of his interviews I believe, so I'm sure it's a "must see." Since, this is the last weekend it's available (not sure why), then we are truckin' it out there tomorrow. I want to do the 5 hour trip...it's all the same price, so why not? I just hope it's not a sweltering 113 degrees, like last weekend. Scratch that, I just looked up the weather and the high is 106. Oh well, we'll take lots of water, sunscreen, and a hat! I even plan on wearing dorky water shoes that I brought back from my trip to KY. I bought them to go white water rafting in WV several years ago and I knew we would be tubing down this river, so I brought them back with me. You can bet I will not step on the bottom of a river without some type of shoes on! I hate the thought of fish scum in my toes! Blech.

I meant to mention the other day, I found Driscolls raspberries for a DOLLAR per pack at the grocery. Reg $3.99. They weren't even going bad. I got four. :) We ate one pack (well, I did) and I froze the rest individually so we can have them later for snacks or smoothies.

If you are into looking at other people's homes for ideas for your own, then head over to Kelly's Korner Blog. Every Friday, she does a "Show Us Your Life (SUYL)" post, with a different topic each week, and other bloggers "link up" by posting about the topic and adding their blog link to her list at the bottom of the post. Just go look at it, you will see what I'm talking about. Anyway, from now, well technically last week, until Thanksgiving, she is doing a "tour of homes." This week the subject is Master Bedrooms. You can view hers and other people's blog posts and "tour" their master bedroom. It's really neat because most people put pictures and say how they made things or where they got them so you can get ideas. I really like it because I am bookmarking all of the ideas I like so hopefully, one day in the near future, I can pull these up when we are ready to furnish and decorate our home. Kelly already has 214 people linked up, so that's 214 master bedrooms you can look at! Last week was a tour of living rooms, so click HERE to see them. A whopping 260 people linked up for that one. P.S. I just LOVE Kelly's living room. Enjoy!

Well, I'm out for the weekend. Happy Friday!

(Posts in the near future: more photos of nephew Micah and sweet 'lil 4 month old Julia, my friends daughter)

Micah at two weeks old

Enjoy some sweet baby pictures of Micah that I was able to get when I was back home in Kentucky. Don't mind the Paci ones; he would NOT stay asleep so, we gave it to him to soothe him to sleep (LIGHT sleep), we pulled it out, took a shot, he got mad, we put it back in. Over and over. LOL But at least we got some good ones in there.

Looking out the window at the great outdoors.

Singing? lol

He's like, "Don't you take this away as soon as I close my eyes!"

He really does have four fingers, one is just tucked away! :)

Holding on to momma's hand

"Can't touch this."

MAD! Photo op - over.

The next few are from a different day - outside:

He slept better for these photos, for a little bit anyway.

He only pee'd two or three times on the blankets, no poop. Success.
Hope you enjoyed!
