36 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 36 Weeks and 2 Days!  Again...is this real life!!?  The weeks are flying by!
Size of baby: Baby Vaughn is about 18.5 inches long from head to heel and almost 6 pounds! (About the size of a crenshaw melon this week).  I feel like she is HUGE!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: ~ +23-24lb....yikes!  Please no more than a pound a week, baby girl!

Maternity Clothes: Always maternity pants or stretchy yoga/sleep pants.  It is getting too hot for my 3/4 sleeves and I have like 2 short sleeve maternity shirts.  Sooooo, she can come any time now so I won't be bulging out of my regular short sleeves! ha!
Gender: Baby V is a GIRL!!!
Movement: Still lots of movement!  I don't think she's even slowed down any, even in these cramped living quarters.  I see a booty, knees, elbows, hands, and feet sticking out of my belly almost all the time now.
What I miss: I really don't think I miss anything.  Like I said last time, I feel really good.  My blood pressure has been stellar...much better than before pregnancy.
Cravings: Still lots of milk.  I even drink it with dinner and usually I am just a water person with dinner.  It is just SO good.  Cereal is still good but I'm not eating it a ton.  I have switched to Kellogs Crispex with a little honey, thanks to seeing a friend eating it.  Sometimes you don't have a craving until you see someone else eating something and then it's like, that sounds really good and have to have it!
Symptoms: Growing.belly.for.sure!  She must be packing on that sweet baby chub.  I started feeling better towards the end of last week, but then earlier this week, my allergy symptoms came back.  Ugh!  So I'm snotty in the morning and I have a dry throat from breathing out of my mouth all night.  I usually feel better throughout the day and I am taking Zyrtec again, which is helping.  Other than that, I'm feeling really good.  I'm not miserable yet!
Best Moment this week:  Just being 36 weeks!  That is 7 DAYS (technically 5, now) until full term!  I know SO many babies who were born at or before 36 weeks, so it seems crazy to think it really could be any time now.  Although, I fully expect to go a week past my due date, which I would be fine with, as long as I'm not too miserable!  We still have a long list of things to do and things left to buy.  We (mostly my sweet and helpful husband) will be working a lot this weekend to get some things knocked off our to-do list.  Thankfully, he is doing all the dusting and will not let me dust!  I have got to get over these allergies.  We would really like to get a fan installed in the nursery.  Not only because we need better lighting in there anyway, but we want the fan to help reduce the risk of SIDS :/.  I have started on freezer meals.  I need to clean out and organize my freezer before making any more but I have three more recipes I'm planning to make and freeze in the next few days.  Maybe I'll do a post just on that.  We had a good check up at the doctor's yesterday.  Baby girl is still moving a lot and her heartbeat was 142bpm.  My belly was measuring on track and they did my b strep culture.  I found out that she won't "check" me until 38 weeks (shew!).  She gave me a new rx for my fever blister which is caused from my allergies/virus, so hopefully that will help clear me up too.  Well, that's all the news for this week!  We've just got to buckle down and get to work on our before baby to-do list!  Nathan has been such a huge help, asking me every day what he can do to help.  He has cleaned, vacuumed, dusted, organized, sprayed weeds, trimmed tree/plants, etc. etc.  I'm so thankful for such a sweet and caring husband and soon to be daddy!! :)  He's the best!
